Thomas J. Gravina, Executive Chairman & Co-Founder
Thomas Gravina brings more than 20 years of a distinguished track record of entrepreneurial success and executive leadership to his role as Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of GPX Enterprises, L.P. and its affiliates. His visionary leadership and intense commitment to the customer experience and value creation have made the organizations he has led among the most respected in their industry.
As President, Chief Executive Officer and a Director of ATX Communications, Inc., a publicly traded communications company, he led the organization through many consecutive quarters of significant financial and operational improvements that led to sustained profitability, and ultimately completed a successful recapitalization of approximately $800 million in debt and preferred stock in April 2005. As that time, he retired as President and CEO, but remained the going forward Chairman of the Board of the company until April 2006.
Mr. Gravina led the multi-billion dollar merger in 2000 between publicly traded CoreComm Limited and Voyager.net, and privately held ATX Telecommunications Services, of which he was Co-Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder since 1987. At the time of the merger, ATX was one of the largest privately held telecommunications companies in the U.S., with more than 22,000 clients and revenues in excess of $160 million, with no debt.
Since the mid 1990's, Mr. Gravina also founded and operated a privately held investment partnership that has made successful private equity investments in software, manufacturing, real estate and other industries.
Mr. Gravina supports many worthwhile causes, including the United Way, Special Olympics, American Cancer Society, and Junior Achievement. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees for the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he sits on the Finance and Foundation committees. He has also served as a Member of the Board of Eastern Technology Council and the Junior Achievement Society.
Mr. Gravina is an active alumnus of Villanova University, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. |
